Performing Company
Storm Dance Academy’s Performing Company is our resident pre-professional ensemble, offered to our Intermediate and Advanced dancers who crave the challenge of full-length theatrical work. Company members train together year-round, working with our STORM Dance Academy choreographers to create original productions that blend ballet, contemporary, and lyrical in rich, narrative storytelling. Rehearsals emphasize artistry, stamina, and professional rehearsal etiquette, preparing dancers for collegiate programs or auditions beyond the studio.
Storm Dance Academy's inaugural production, Pandora’s Box, debuts in 2026 and will tour local theaters and community venues, showcasing the creative power and technical excellence of Middletown’s own young artists.
In Greek mythology, Pandora's Box tells the story of the first woman, Pandora, created by the gods. She was given a sealed box and told never to open it. Driven by curiosity, she eventually lifted the lid - releasing all of the evils of the world such as jealousy, sadness, hatred, madness and even death. Horrified, she quickly closed it, trapping only one thing inside: HOPE. The myth explains the origin of human suffering and suggests that even in the midst of hardship, hope remains as a source of comfort.
